Apple cider vinegar home made facial mask (or acne mask):
You can add a half to one teaspoon of cider vinegar to a mask made from oatmeal, avocado, papaya or banana.
If you have acne and want a really good acne mask to treat and soothe your skin, add a teaspoon of honey and a few drops or tea tree or lavender oil to this mix. Using extra virgin coconut oil is also excellent for acne and highly moisturizing for skin. Apply this mask to your skin or body for ten to fifteen minutes two or three times a week for best results.
Masks containing apple cider vinegar for skin:
Add cider vinegar to any mask.
You can make a natural face mask out of avocado, banana, whipped cream or even a store bought face mask. Add a 1/2 a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar to the mask and apply to skin for a few minutes (or required amount of time if adding to a commercial product).
Apple Cider Vinegar For Skin In Salad Dressings:
Apple cider vinegar is also good for your health in general. It can also be used in salad dressings such as vinaigrette or home made mayonnaise.
Here are two recipes to make:
Apple cider vinegar vinaigrette
- 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
- salt and pepper to taste
In a medium glass mixing bowl combine the oregano, thyme, oil, vinegar, salt and pepper. Mix together and pour mixture into a bottle, using a funnel to keep yourself from losing oil. Cover tightly and store at room temperature.
Apple cider mayo
- 3/4 c. extra virgin olive oil or safflower oil
- 1 egg yolk
- Pinch of sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 tablespoon apple cider vinegar (or any type of vinegar)
- 1/2 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1/2 teaspoon dijon mustard
Whisk together well and refrigerate immediately.
As you can see, apple cider vinegar is a great ingredient to have at home. It’s cheap and so useful around the home, so pick some up next time you are at the grocery store.
