Bananas are one of the most popular eating fruits in the world – Americans on average consume 26lb or Bananas per person per year. They are an easy snack to take to work, school or anywhere else and come in their own packaging.
No wonder so many people love bananas! Another reason to love this nutrient packed fruit is that they are fabulous for skin when used in natural homemade facial masks. Banana face masks are so simple to make and can be combined with lots of other beneficial ingredients for all different types of skin from acne prone to dry mature skins.
Banana face masks contain many nutrients that are highly beneficial for skin:
Vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant protecting skin from free radical damage and premature aging. It aids in the production of collagen in your skin. Vitamin C brightens and renews skin.
Potassium
Potassium is beneficial for skin because retards acne bacteria slowing it’s ability to reproduce. When combined with other ingredients like yogurt and honey, banana makes a great acne mask base.
Vitamins A E and K
Vitamin K is good for reducing dark circles around eyes which can often be a symptom of a Vitamin K deficiency. Vitamin A is used in many skin care products (sometimes called Retinol A) for reducing wrinkles by supporting and encouraging collagen production.
Thiamine and other B Vitamins
B-complex vitamins promote healthy skin tone and is very good for acne prone skin for helping skin fight acne bacteria.
As you can see Bananas have many vitamins that nourish skin, they are also moisturizing.
Here is an easy facial mask recipe base that you can add other ingredients to:
Banana Face Mask Base
1 ripe banana mashed
1 teaspoon honey (if you have acne it is best to use active UMF honey)

This is your base mask, to this you can add other additions to your recipe like:
Acneic Skin (or oily skin)
Add a squeeze of lemon, lime juice or apple cider vinegar
