You can make a hydrating homemade dry skin mask from any of these ingredients or combinations of them. Start with a base of 1/2 a cup of honey, yoghurt, mashed avocado, finely ground oatmeal or almond meal.
Mix in oils, cocoa, chocolate or fruit if you want to add in an anti-oxidant or alpha hydroxy acid exfoliation treatment as well.
Blend whatever ingredients you mix together well and apply to your skin with fingertips. Leave on for ten to 15 minutes then wash off.
To make a moisturizing serum that can be used under moisturizer, you can use just oils and leave them on your skin. As a general rule mix a base oil like Almond Apricot, Wheatgerm or Olive oil (thin oils) and add thicker more dense oils like Carrot seed, Avocado, Coconut or Evening Primrose in as a 15% mix to 75% base.
The main thing to remember when making hydrating face masks as that it’s best to use food based ingredients that ere emollients for the base, and add humectants for extra moisture. Foods like avocados and honey are great for masks, and oils are great as serums.
Apply your masks once or twice a week, and you will notice the improvement in your skin.
