Recipes for acne pain relief
Acne can be painful, not just unsightly and embarrassing for many people..
Most people are concerned about the appearance of acne but don’t know that it is possible to also relieve the pain that comes with it.
Redness, swelling and soreness are normal symptoms of pimples, but most acne products don’t deal with the pain side of things.
You may be thinking at this point – why not?
Most acne products are produced by pharmaceutical companies that are focused on medications to target acne bacteria. That’s all fine and good, except that many of them can contain irritating ingredients for skin
So what options are there to deal with acne pain?
This is where natural remedies come to the rescue
If you have ever heard of lavender and chamomile or oatmeal then you already know of three ingredients that have natural soothing properties for acne irritation.
You can make masks, soaks and washes to treat acne bacteria and relieve acne pain at home.
Below are a three recipes you can make and adapt to soothe acne pain:
Soothing Acne Rinse
This recipe is not only soothing but also targets acne bacteria offering a long term treatment.
1/2 cup chamomile tea
1 tablespoon oatmeal
3 drops in tea tree oil (or use 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder)
3 drops of lavender oil (or use crushed basil leaves)
Soak the oatmeal in cooled chamomile tea, add oils or spices. Splash on skin or apply with a cotton pad.
Soothing Acne Soak
This recipe is very calming and soothing while targeting acne bacteria as a long term solution.
1/2 cooled cup chamomile tea
1 tablespoon oatmeal
3 drops in tea tree oil (or use 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder)
3 drops of lavender oil (or use crushed basil leaves)
Add the oatmeal to in cooled chamomile tea, add oils or spices. Strain out the oatmeal flakes and use the liquid. Use as a rinse on skin or apply with a cotton pad.
Soothing Calming Acne Mask
A soothing and antibacterial inflamed skin mask
1/2 cup chamomile tea
1 tablespoon oatmeal
1 tablespoon honey
1 teaspoon plain yogurt (preferably greek)
3 drops in tea tree oil (or use 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder)
3 drops of lavender oil (or use crushed basil leaves)
Mix these ingredients together well and apply to skin leaving on for ten minutes then wash off with warm water. You can follow with the acne soak.
Soothing Acne Serum
1 tablespoon coconut oil
2 drops lavender oil
2 drops tea tree oil
few drops lemon juice
Mix ingredients well and apply to skin once or twice a day.
These recipes include my three favorrite soothing ingredients of many you can use as alternatives.
Other ingredients include:
- Neem oil
- Aloe Vera
- Karanja oil
- Basil leaves
- Baking soda
- Cloves (soaked in the tea)
- Juniper berries or vodka
- Mint leaves
You can make masks, washes and serums using these ingredients. By adding these ingredients, you can make masks, washes or especially the neem and karanja to the serum, you can make a really soothing treatment.
Drop crushed mint or basil leaves in to the tea or serums for an easy alternative.
These are easy ideas to start with, there are many recipes you can use to soothe and heal skin of all types with simple ingredients like honey and fruits.
