People take notice of glowing radiant skin especially during winter months when most faces are pale and dull. Tanning salons and spa treatments are one way to “cheat” and create a healthy glow but they come at a high price and tanning can increase the risk for cancer not to mention prematurely aging skin.
A homemade face mask is a safer and less expensive alternative that can be used every day.
Signs and Symptoms Of Tired Dull Skin:
When your skin doesn’t look and feel it’s best due to environmental factors like sunburn, wind exposure, illness, lack of sleep or adequate nutrition you feel older and more “rugged” than you want to. Sometimes you can feel less than your radiant self and wonder what you can do to improve your health and appearance.
If you aren’t reading this because you’re having a “bad skin day” but simply want a natural way to maintain good skin health and a radiant complexion without spending a fortune on skin care products then this information is equally valid.
The ingredients you have available to you for use in skin care recipes can be more effective than home made recipes if you know what to use and how to use them.
Risks Factors In Commercial Skin Care Products:
Many skin care products contain petroleum or other chemically based products to lock in moisture or deliver synthetic alternatives to naturally derived vitamins and minerals in their fresh concentrated forms.
You may have heard of ingredients like propylene glycol or sodium laureate sulphate. Many people have sensitivities to these products. Some allergies are not obvious but can cause acne, flaking and dryness that you may not associate with your skin or shampoo products.
Using natural skincare recipes including homemade face masks to serums, means you can avoid chemical irritation or greatly reduce your chances not of having a reaction to skin care products.
Traditional Skin Treatments:
There are so many treatments offered from microdermabrasion to IPL (intended pulsed light) as examples. These are designed to stimulate regeneration of skin cells and to increase the level of uptake of beneficial nutrients into your skins layers.
If you use the right combination of nuts, oils and fruits in homemade facial masks, you can do the same thing and achieve the same results that you might pay hundreds or thousands of dollars for.
Research and Natural Skin Care:
There are so many essential oils that we suggest using in Natural Home Made Face Masks and Skin Care Recipes that have been proven to stimulate new cell growth, repair damage and protect against free radical damage to your skins layers. Ingredients like Coconut oil, tea tree and honey have been tested extensively and proven to be very beneficial for treatment of bacterial infections and healing making them great for acne prone skin or other skin infections.
Here are some simple ways to use homemade face masks to enhance your skins luminosity:
Skin Loofah
- Exfoliate the skin by massaging a natural loofah on it for two or three minutes and then rinse the skin with lukewarm water.
Honey Lemon Mask
- Mix some honey with enough flour to create a paste and add a small amount of lemon juice. Apply this mask, leave it on for 15 minutes, then wash off with warm water and pat skin dry.
Oatmeal Facial Mask:
A mask featuring oatmeal smoothes skin and provides it with a lasting glow. Combine ½ cup of oatmeal, ¼ cup of milk, ½ cup of chopped cucumber, and a handful of fresh cilantro. Blend the ingredients to create a smooth mixture. Apply this to the face and leave the mask on until it hardens, approximately 20 minutes, then rinse it off with warm water and pat-dry skin.
Turmeric is a spice popular in India as a face mask and body scrub ingredient. Mix one teaspoon of turmeric with three tablespoons of milk, two tablespoons of flour, and a few drops of honey. Apply the mixture to the face in a thin layer and wait approximately 20 minutes for it to dry. Gently scrub with a washcloth and warm water to remove, dry skin, and apply a moisturizer.
These are just a few simple ways to get glowing skin…there are many more homemade face masks, serums and remedies to help remove dead skin cells and stimulate new cell growth.
