Enter natural home skin whitening remedies….
Most people are surprised to discover how many home remedies there are for bleaching and lightening skin and more importantly how effective they are! Something as simple as a mix of cucumber and pear juice can work wonders, or Almond oil with a squeeze of lemon (better still lemon oil squeezed from the zest of a lemon).
You can tackle age spots with a squeeze of lemon or lime juice in a pinch of baking soda, or spritz your face with cool camomile tea. A really effective age spot treatment is a mixture of lemon juice, aloe vera juice, and horseradish in equal quantities dabbed onto affected areas.
My absolute favourite skin lightening recipe as far as home remedies go is really easy to make and not only lightens and brightens dull or discoloured complexions, but is also very moisturising with a host of other benefits for skin.
Whether your skin is dark or light, with spots and freckles, or your are concerned about another “discoloration issue” you’ll love this recipe.
So here goes…
Brightening home remedy for skin lightening:
Step 1. What you’ll need – ingredients:
- half a cup of yogurt
- 1 tablespoon sweet Almond oil
- squeeze of lemon juice
- pinch of baking soda
- 1 inch cube of mashed peeled cucumber
- 1 tablespoon of strong camomile tea (just cover a camomile tea bag in boiling water)
- Optional: 1/4 teaspoon molasses (glycolic acid in this works wonders)
- Optional: 1 teaspoon mashed papaya, kiwifruit, pawpaw or pineapple (contain protein dissolving enzymes)
- Optional: 1/4 teaspoon aloe vera juice or gel
- Optional: 2 drops horseradish or wasabi
Step 2. Instructions:
Blend this mixture together well so it’s nice and smooth, apply a thin layer over your skin. Leave on 14 to 15 minutes then wash off with tepid water. Repeat daily for a week or two to see a marked improvement (pardon the pun).
If you like this recipe but prefer a lightening serum moisturizer that is less messy that you can apply to your skin under moisturizer or as a night treatment, try this lightning oil blend.
Skin lightening serum home remedy
Step 1. Ingredients:
7 drops of chamomile oil
10 drops of rosehip oil
1/2 cup sweet Almond oil (you can leave out the sweet Almond oil for a concentrated elixir)
Step 2. Instructions:
Blend well. That’s it, a very basic serum that you can apply to your skin daily.
Skin lightening moisturizer
Step 1. Ingredients:
7 drops of camomile oil
10 drops of rosehip oil
1/2 cup sweet Almond oil
1 cup chamomile (preferably use bottled or distilled water)
2 tablespoons beeswax
Step 2. Instructions:
Warm the oils gently in a double boiler with the beeswax until just melted. Once melted slowly add the chamomile tea whisking the mix until it forms a softened butter like consistency.
Allow to cool and store in a clean container in a cool place out of sunlight. Use this cream on your skin daily to gradually lighten and brighten skin.
