How to remove acne scars at home using a natural home made peel for acne.
Acne is an annoying and sometimes painful condition that can leave you with nasty scars and discoloration. Treatments for acne scars range from creams and scrubs to IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) or microdermabrasion, all of which range from cheap (and usually not very effective) to very expensive treatments that are out of reach for most of us.
This is where a home fruit based peel for acne is fantastic.
Many acne scar products contain fruit acids (alpha hydroxy acids) or acids derived from sugar cane (glycolic acid). Both of these acids are very useful for lifting off the top layer of skin cells and stimulating skin into producing new cell growth, revealing a new unblemished complexion.
There are other exfoliation methods suitable for acne scars which use products that contain corundum crystals (like this product for example Microdermabrasion 4 Oz net weight jar that rely on physical granular exfoliation of the skin. These actually rub off the dead skin layers of skin. These products can give you excellent results, especially if they also contain fruit acids in the paste because they use both mechanical and chemical methods to clean your skin. However, if you don’t want to spend money on these kinds of products ($30 to $150 a jar), you can make a simple peel for acne at home using the recipe below.
This recipe is packed with natural fruit acids and also brown or demerara sugar which is naturally high in glycolic acid and also helps to mechanically slough off dead skin and acne scarring.
Almond oil for lightening acne scars.
With the addition of Almond oil, this treatment will lighten acne scars and help to soften and even out skin tone. You can store this recipe in the refrigerator, it will keep for a week or two. Better still add it to ice cubes and store in the freezer, thawing and using a cube each time you need it.
For best results, use this recipe daily for two weeks as a peel for acne and watch your acne scars fade away!
Homemade Face Peel for Acne Scars
1 inch thick slice of cucumber
Blend together 1/4 cup diced pineapple, 1/4 cup diced papaya, 1/4 cup diced cantaloupe (if you care allergic to pineapple use watermelon or replace with more of the other fruits)
1 tablespoon Almond oil (can use apricot oil)
1/2 cup brown sugar (if you can get demerara sugar that’s even better)
1 teaspoon molasses (optional but preferred as it is rich in glycolic acid)
1 teaspoon lime or lemon juice
Blend or puree together well, rub onto skin in circular motions for approximately 2 to 5 minutes. Leave on the skin for a further 5 to 8 minutes (this mixture should only be left on the skin for a total of ten minutes maximum).
Store in a glass, ceramic or clean plastic container in the fridge.
Wash off with your usual cleanser or rinse with water. You can apply Almond oil directly to your skin or rosehip oil as a serum for an extra moisture boost and to aid in lightening acne scars.
